Behind the music - Rolla

Manchester band ROLLA have released their new single, It Ain't Easy. We asked them the BIG questions . . .

The song has a direct link to one of their biggest influences. In 2022, Serge Pizzorno of Kasabian invited the band to open for them during Kasabian’s arena tour.

"Watching Kasabian on that tour made us realise that the way they craft their songs is all done with one thing in mind: for their fans to lose their minds to," says ROLLA’s bassist Luke Gillmore.

"That's always stuck with us and inspired us. Serge massively helped us work out the structure and gave it that extra boost of adrenaline to make it the song we knew it deserved to be. Massive thanks and love, Sergio!"

Speaking about It Ain’t Easy, James of ROLLA says, "It’s another heavier, baggy tune. It's got that constant driving groove behind it with the drums and the bass riff but then the guitars and vocals loosen the whole thing up and give it that shuffle.

"It's a reflection of the parallels of life, working day-in day-out, all that s****, running alongside the moments of euphoria - a representation of taking the rough with the smooth, living your life to the full and making the most out of bad situations and using them as fuel to find inner peace and enjoyment in life."

Tell us three things about yourself . . .
