The American Society of Magical Negroes, Sky Cinema Premiere & NOW

In this comedy movie, a young man gets recruited into a secret society of magical Black people who dedicate their lives to making white people's lives easier.

Although initially enamored with his new powers, he begins to question the value of using supernatural means to do the very thing he's felt obligated to do his whole life.

Sunday Cinema

Excellent drama, directed by Clint Eastwood and featuring Oscar-winning performances from Sean Penn (below, right) and Tim Robbins.

A superb cast also includes Kevin Bacon (below, left), Laura Linney and Laurence Fishburne.

The story revolves around the murder of a teenager that leaves her heartbroken father determined to exact revenge on the killer.

But as police and family members conduct their investigations, suspicion falls rather too close to home.

Cape Fear, 11.00pm, BBC Two

Martin Scorsese's pretty good thriller remake, starring Robert De Niro (below), Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange and Juliette Lewis, with cameo appearances by Gregory Peck, Robert Mitchum and Martin Balsam, who all appeared in the 1962 original.

De Niro stars as a psychopathic rapist who gets released from prison after 14 years and plots revenge on the defence attorney he blames for his imprisonment.

Subjecting the lawyer and his family to a terrifying campaign of intimidation, he uses his knowledge of the law to stay untouchable.

Family Flick

We're Going on a Bear Hunt, 1.30pm, Channel 4

An afternoon of animated films begins here.

This one’s based on the popular children's bedtime book by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.

Stan, Katie, Rosie, Max and the baby, along with Rufus the dog, all embark on a quest to find some bears. Trekking through whirling snowstorms, muddy bogs and dark forests, the siblings refuse to let anything get in their way.

But when Rosie and Rufus end up getting lost, bear-hunting suddenly doesn't seem quite so much fun after all.

Featuring the voices of Olivia Colman, Pam Ferris and Mark Williams as Mum, Grandma and Dad respectively.

Followed by Terry Pratchett's The Abominable Snow Baby (2.05pm), The Tiger Who Came to Tea (2.40pm), Mog's Christmas (3.15pm), The Snowman (3.50pm), Father Christmas (4.25pm), and The Snowman and the Snowdog (5pm).
