Pick of the Day

Patrick Kielty will be hosting a St. Patrick's weekend extravaganza with music, dancing, reunions and returns.

For starters, the 1990 Republic of Ireland squad will reunite to relive one of Ireland’s greatest sporting moments, the magic that was Italia 90.

Riverdance will be taking over the studio as the cast showcase the global phenomenon which began as the interval act during the Eurovision Song Contest 1994.

Grammy Award-winner and Cork singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot will be on the show to perform his new song Little Dreaming. He'll also sit down with Patrick for a chat.

Also joining Patrick tonight are Dancing with the Stars finalists Jack Woolley, Rhys McClenaghan, Kayleigh Trappe and Danny O’Carroll along with their pro-partners.

They’ll be chatting about their time spent on and off the dancefloor, the friendships they’ve made and more.

And B*Witched make their return to The Late Late Show as Keavy, Edele, Sinead and Lindsay perform one of their hits.

Steven McRae: Dancing Back to the Light, 9.00pm, BBC Two

You don't have to be a ballet fan to be inspired by this story.

Steven McRae was the principal dancer with the world-renowned Royal Ballet was 33 years old and at the pinnacle of his career when he severely damaged his Achilles tendon in the middle of a show attended by 2,500 spectators.

This is the story of his amazing rehabilitation and the nerve-racking days leading up to his triumphant return to the stage.

Back for a new run, this series is always an eye-opener in terms of the misery that’s going on around our planet.

Since the start of the civil war between the Sudanese government and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), 11.3 million people have fled their homes.

Over half of Sudan's population - around 30 million people - need humanitarian assistance, with famine declared in parts of the country.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy gains rare access to one of its region to find over a million people on the brink of starvation.

He meets a nurse whose work bears witness to the scale of the current crisis, as hungry children line up to be seen and old men die alone in tents.

In order to survive, people are forced to eat leaves, insects and even rats.

Dope Thief, Apple TV

This is a new eight-episode crime drama executive produced by Ridley Scott, who also directs the first episode.

Created and executive produced by Peter Craig, it stars Brian Tyree Henry, who also serves as executive producer.

Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book of the same name, the series follows longtime Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside.

Their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern Seaboard of the USA.

The ensemble cast starring alongside Henry includes Wagner Moura, Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison, Dustin Nguyen and Ving Rhames.

The Electric State, Netflix

Here's a sci-fi adventure from the directors of Avengers: Endgame set in an alternate, retro-futuristic version of the 1990s.

Millie Bobby Brown stars as Michelle, an orphaned teenager navigating life in a society where sentient robots resembling cartoons and mascots, who once served peacefully among humans, now live in exile following a failed uprising.

Everything Michelle thinks she knows about the world is upended one night when she’s visited by Cosmo, a sweet, mysterious robot who appears to be controlled by Christopher, Michelle’s genius younger brother whom she thought was dead.

Determined to find the beloved sibling she thought she had lost, Michelle sets out across the American southwest with Cosmo and soon finds herself reluctantly joining forces with Keats (Chris Pratt), a low-rent smuggler, and his wisecracking robot sidekick, Herman (voiced by Anthony Mackie).

As they venture into the Exclusion Zone, a walled-off corner in the desert where robots now exist on their own, Keats and Michelle find a strange, colorful group of new animatronic allies.

They also begin to learn that the forces behind Christopher’s disappearance are more sinister than they expected.

Horizon: An American Saga, Sky Cinema Premiere & NOW

Kevin Costner directs and stars in a multi-faceted chronicle covering the Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West.

In the great tradition of iconic Westerns, Horizon: An American Saga explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won - and lost - through the blood, sweat and tears of many.

Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s adventure will take audiences on a journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.

Meanwhile, a 10-month-old German shepherd with a bad neck wound, caused by a severely embedded collar, is brought to the shelter.

Lynda and Mikey bring her out of her shell and trainer Kate takes over the case to get her ready for rehoming.

Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job, 8.30pm, BBC One

Amanda Holden and Alan Carr reach the last room of the Andalusian townhouse, deciding to go all-out designing a Moorish-themed bar.

Amanda refuses to hold back and is ready and willing to bring in some opulence, keen to drench the room in patterned wallpaper and fabulous gold touches.

Taking a break from the property, the pair head to a traditional tea house in the oldest neighbourhood in Granada - and get more than they bargained for when they're treated to a surprise belly dance performance.

Later, they reveal their completed labour of love with a big farewell party for their friends and family.

All the action from the Premier Division match between St Patrick's Athletic and Bohemians (KO 7.45pm) at Richmond Park.

Saint Pats' Aidan Keena

The Saints enjoyed a strong end to the campaign last term, pushing for the title before eventually finishing in third place, while Bohs will be looking to improve on their eighth-place finish in 2024.

Five games in and little separates them, with Stephen Kenny’s side fifth with seven points, one point and one place above Alan Reynolds’ Gypsies.
