Patrick Kielty forced to postpone Vicar Street shows

Patrick Kielty has been forced to postpone his upcoming stand-up shows at Dublin's Vicar Street due to filming commitments.

The comedian and Late Late Show host had been set to perform his show Borderline at the venue on 6 and 7 June, but a scheduling conflict means the dates can no longer go ahead.

A spokesperson for Vicar Street said: "Due to filming commitments, we regret that Patrick has had to postpone these events.

"We look forward to rescheduling these dates as soon as possible. In the meantime, all ticket holders will receive a full refund."

The Dundrum native, who began his stand-up career as host of Belfast's first comedy club The Empire Laughs Back in the early 90s, was set to return to Vicar Street after almost 20 years with a show described as "an ode to peace, borders and identity in a world turned upside down".

Previous stand up credits include Stand Up For The Week and CH4’s Comedy Gala at London’s O2 Arena as well as hosting and headlining Live at The Apollo for BBC1.

His BAFTA nominated My Dad, The Peace Deal and Me saw him named Best Host at the Grierson Awards while his most recent documentary, Patrick Kielty:100 Years of Union also won an RTS award for Best Presenter.

In 2023 he had his big screen acting debut in the critically acclaimed movie, Ballywalter, sharing the lead role alongside IFTA nominee, Seána Kerslake.
