Stars out in force at Small Town, Big Story Dublin premiere

Chris O'Dowd, Eileen Walsh, Paddy Considine, Christina Hendricks and Amy Huberman were among the stars who walked the red carpet at the Dublin premiere of Small Town, Big Story on Thursday evening.

The six-part Sky series, created by The IT Crowd star O'Dowd, focuses on what happens when a Hollywood production lands in the small fictional rural Irish town of Drumbán putting a "spotlight on a secret that's been kept hidden since the eve of the Millennium".

The upcoming show, which was filmed on location around Wicklow and Roscommon, stars Christina Hendricks and Paddy Considine in main roles, while O'Dowd and Hendricks also serve as executive producers.

In the comedy drama, Wendy Patterson (Hendricks) returns to her hometown from Los Angeles with a US production crew.

British actor Considine, known for playing Viserys Targaryen in House Of The Dragon, takes on the role of local doctor and pillar of the community Seamus Proctor.

Eileen Walsh stars as Catherine Proctor, Seamus' wife and local schoolteacher, while Fair City star Leia Murphy and O'Dowd's Moone Boy co-star David Rawle star as siblings Joanne and Sonny Proctor.

Liz Gill, who has worked on Dangerous Liaisons and Vikings, is a series producer and Lockwood & Co's Catherine Morshead. O'Dowd and Extra Ordinary writers Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman are also among the directors.

Boyle, Co Roscommon actor O’Dowd, also known for 2011’s Bridesmaids, previously created the semi-autobiographical coming of age story Moone Boy.

The comedy drama, set in the west of Ireland was nominated for a Bafta in 2015.

Small Town, Big Story will premiere on Thursday, 27 February on Sky and streaming service NOW.
