Coming up in the Dales this Christmas, Belle admits to Vinny that she never saw Piper's body. Suspecting that Tom may have been lying about her death, Belle asks Vinny to get a shovel so they can dig up her grave. When they discover the coffin is empty, Belle's mind races. On Christmas Day, Belle is overwhelmed with joy when she is reunited with Piper, who was found by Vinny and Gabby.

There's trouble ahead for Marlon this festive period. His relationship with April is on a knife's edge as she continues to push boundaries. When he realises his daughter has been trying to buy cannabis, Marlon confronts April and she spirals. As Christmas Day arrives, Marlon is in for a shock.

Meanwhile, Will is uncomfortable when Peter arrives at Home Farm and piles on the pressure for their Christmas plans. On Christmas Eve, Kim sets off from the stables for a ride, but soon in the fields, her horse is seen wandering alone. What has happened to Kim and has Will gone ahead with his plans?

The drama is heating up in Weatherfield this Christmas on numerous fronts. When Nick returns from Tenerife he discovers from Leanne that there's a problem with the bistro's accounts. Toyah later arrives to work and is shocked when Kit arrests her on suspicion of theft. Has Leanne set her up?

Elsewhere, Jesse tells David that he's managed to launder the last of the cash. When Gail wonders what they're talking about, Jesse panics and makes out that he was telling David how he's booked them a honeymoon in the Maldives. Unable to bite her tongue any longer, Audrey tells Gail that if she marries Jesse, she’ll never see her again.

Gail's wedding day approaches, but will she go through with it?

Tensions run high at Gail and Jesse's farewell party in The Rovers and Audrey tries to convince Gail not to go through with the wedding. Later, Gail has a surprise visitor, will they help her decide what to do? When Gail and Jessie's wedding day arrives she's left with a tough decision - to leave Weatherfield as a married woman or to bid farewell to her feuding family.

David later becomes suspicious of Shona when opening Christmas presents as she doesn't give him an aftershave he spotted in her bag. When Adam calls around smelling of aftershave, saying it was a gift, his suspicions grow. David insists they go for a birthday drink and Adam knocks back whiskey. David accuses Adam of sleeping with Shona and a row ensues, leading to Adam tumbling down the stairs.

Bethany gifts Daniel an expensive vintage watch, but he seems underwhelmed. An upset Bethany confronts him, convinced he doesn't want to be with her anymore. Daniel assures her she couldn't be more wrong and gets down on one knee to ask her to marry him.

Amid the chaos, Stacey finds herself at odds with Martin after learning he’s living with Ruby, while Sharon struggles to reach a withdrawn Phil, whose pain becomes clearer when he abruptly leaves the Mitchells’ Christmas dinner. And, in a love triangle that’s heating up, Denise is torn between her feelings for Jack and Ravi, leading to an emotional Christmas full of longing and unresolved tension.

And as Penny ropes Laoise into her content creation, a family rift comes to light. Can Laoise help Penny and her father Marcus reconcile?
