Elton John: Never Too Late, Disney+

Directed by RJ Cutler and David Furnish, the documentary follows Elton John as he looks back on his life and the astonishing early days of his 50-year career.

As he prepares for his final concert in North America at Dodger Stadium, Elton takes viewers back in time to recount the extraordinary highs and heartbreaking lows of his early years and how he overcame adversity, abuse and addiction to become the icon he is today.

The film will also feature a new original song from Elton John.

Alan Bennett: 90 Years On, 9.00pm, BBC Two

Another documentary, this time celebrating the life and long career of Alan Bennett (below - and looking rather Elton John-ish!), the much-loved British playwright, who turned 90 in May 2024.

Part frank reflection on the ageing process, part remembrance of the joys of youth, Bennett is aided by the films he has written and the documentaries he presented in a quest to understand the person he has become.

Romesh Ranganathan's Parents' Evening, 9.00pm, Virgin Media One

This ITV comedy game show makes its debut on Virgin Media.

It’s a show where celebrities team up with family members, with the parents choosing which questions their grown-up children will answer and gambling on how many they can get right.

Alison Hammond's son Aidan comes close to damaging the family brand, and Carol Vorderman makes life difficult for her son Cameron.

Romesh's mother Shanthi has her head turned by the sight of Iain Stirling in long johns, with the Love Island narrator being in a team with his mother.

Ant and Dec present a behind-the-scenes look at what happens when the 2024 winner, Danny Jones (below), and the other contestants leave the jungle to return to VIP paradise.

Featuring interviews with the stars' friends and family as they wait for their return and access all areas to the 2024 campers as they gather for a wrap party and reminisce on their time in the jungle.

The Last Leg, 10.00pm, Channel 4

Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker are joined by guests Jameela Jamil, Fin Taylor and Richard Ayoade for a comic review of the significant moments of the past seven days.

Rocketman and Kingsman star Taron Egerton heads the cast in this new new thriller.

Egerton plays Ethan Kopek, a TSA agent who’s blackmailed by a mysterious traveler (Jason Bateman) into letting a dangerous package slip onto a Christmas Eve flight.

"When Jaume first approached me about the role, I told him I didn’t want to do something that felt like an archetypal action hero," Egerton told Netflix.

"Luckily, neither of us thought that’s what was exciting or interesting about Ethan. What we kept our eyes on was making sure that we made him feel as relatable and as normal as possible … whatever normal is in the extraordinary situation he’s in."

Meanwhile, the murders always follow the same pattern: next to the burned bodies of the victims appears a doll of Curro, the iconic mascot of the Expo '92 in Seville.
