Trailer for Barry Keoghan-starring Bird released

The trailer for Bird, the new film from Oscar-winning writer-director Andrea Arnold, which stars Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski alongside newcomers Nykiya Adams and Jason Buda, has been released ahead of the drama's arrival in cinemas on Friday 8 November.

The film's Irish premiere will take place at Dublin's Light House Cinema on Tuesday 22 October with director Arnold (American Honey, Fish Tank, Wasp) in attendance and will be followed by a Q&A.

The acclaimed Bird received its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

"As with Arnold's previous work, it is an examination of life in the fringes of society," says the synopsis.

"Twelve-year-old Bailey (Adams) lives with her single dad Bug (Keoghan) and brother Hunter (Buda) in a squat in North Kent," the synopsis continues.

"Bug doesn't have much time for his kids and Bailey, who is approaching puberty, seeks attention and adventure elsewhere."

Rogowski plays the titular Bird in a film that sees Arnold reuniting with her longtime Irish collaborator, the Oscar-nominated cinematographer Robbie Ryan (Poor Things, The Favourite).
