Lady Gaga for Wednesday season two, which is filming in Ireland

Lady Gaga is joining Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones in season two of Netflix's comedy-horror hit Wednesday, which is filming in Ireland.

US entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter says that details of Lady Gaga's role "are being kept quiet for now". News of her casting was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.

The Hollywood Reporter adds: "Lady Gaga has a tangential connection to Wednesday already: A remix of her song Bloody Mary overlaid on Wednesday's (Jenna Ortega) season one dance scene went viral on TikTok and other social platforms after the show's 2022 premiere."

The new season of Wednesday will premiere on Netflix next year

Wednesday, which follows the (mis)adventures of the Addams family teenager, has been filming at Ashford Studios in Co Wicklow since earlier this year.

Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, and Thandiwe Newton are also among the guest stars for the new season. Returning cast members also include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo.

The new season will premiere on Netflix next year.

Lady Gaga was most recently seen in cinemas opposite Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker sequel Joker: Folie à Deux.
