Hailing from the rural mountains of Sligo, they describe themselves as "a toxic marriage of classic punk and Irish folklore."
Tell us three things about yourself . . .
I'm a one man musical project from rural Sligo
For me, it’s ALL about DIY, I do all the writing, recording, mastering, filming, etc etc myself. I’d rather something be half-baked but a true reflection of myself rather than something polished done by several other people
I taught myself how to read and write Ogham
How would you describe your music?
Bog punk! Equal parts camp Hammer Horror, pagan ritual and some 70s graveyard punk. The Misfits meet The Dubliners.
Who are your musical inspirations?
To take over the world and show them how it's done.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
First one to note would have been Primal Scream in 2019. I got fired from my retail job at the time because of it but it was honestly worth it.
What was the first record you ever bought?
Psychocandy by The Jesus & Mary Chain on vinyl. First pressing. When I play it on my sound system the whole room shakes with the harsh feedback, nothing I want more.
What’s your favourite song right now?
Rainbow in the Dark by Dio, I don’t even like Dio or classic heavy metal too much but that song is something special.
Favourite lyric of all time?
Probably in Fun House by The Stooges where Iggy Pop is screaming to the band to "take it down" so he can start singing but the band just keep playing crazy.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’d go with Eyes Without a Face by Billy Idol or any Vashti Bunyan song.
Where can people find your music/more information?
Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Spotify and @_thewildeyes_ on all social media.
