The show at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood generally runs for three hours plus, and kicks off at 4pm Los Angeles time, which means midnight here in Ireland.
We'll be covering the event from 10pm with a live tracker as the glitterati arrive on the world's longrest red carpet and take their place as Conan O'Brien makes his hosting debut at Hollywood's homage to the movie world.
But after several big nights for Irish talent at the Academy Awards in recent times, this year's Oscars has only a slight green tinge.
The Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice, co-produced by the Dublin-based Tailored Films, has Best Actor (Sebastian Stan) and Supporting Actor (Jeremy Strong) nominations, while Conclave's Lisburn-born editor Nick Emerson is highly-tipped in that category.
Talking of nominations, the Spanish-language musical Emilia Pérez leads the shortlist with 13 nominations, while The Brutalist and The Wizard of Oz prequel Wicked have picked up 10 nods each.
As ever, the Academy Awards is a night sprinkled with stars. On top of the various nominees, the list of actors who are performing the night's presentations is outrgeously impressive.
As well as our own Cillian Murphy (who won Best Actor last year for his performance in Oppenheimer),
there's Robert Downey Jr, Emma Stone, Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Miley Cyrus, Harrison Ford, Andrew Garfield, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez, Goldie Hawn, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, and Ben Stiller.
And that's just for starters!
But it's all about the winners on the night, so check out Harry Guerin's guide to the nominees - and likely winners - on Sunday night. It's an ideal way to get yourself prepped for the ultimate star-studded event.
