Welcome to The White Lotus, Thailand, for season 3 of Mike White's biting social satire.

The multi-Emmy Award-winning anthology series returns, this time set at an exclusive Thai resort, which follows on from season 1's Hawaii and last time’s trip to Taormina in Sicily.

As in previous seasons, the show follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week preceding a death, portrayed by an all-star cast.

This season’s guestlist includes Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon and Leslie Bibb as three long-time friends on a girls’ trip.

Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood as a rugged man with a chip on his shoulder travelling with his free-spirited girlfriend, while Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey as a wealthy couple vacationing with their three children.

Then there's sole returning cast member Natasha Rothwell as Belinda, the spa manager from The White Lotus’ Hawaii location.

New or Returning Shows

EastEnders: 40 Years on the Square, 8.00pm, BBC One

Ross Kemp – who played Walford thug Grant Mitchell - returns to the EastEnders set for its 40th anniversary, meeting cast members past and present.

He’ll also be exploring the groundbreaking issues that helped to define the British soap following its 1985 debut.

Featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and contributions from Michelle Collins, Adam Woodyatt, Gillian Taylforth, Letitia Dean, Jessie Wallace, Anita Dobson and Pam St Clement.

Batch from Scratch: Cooking for Less, 8.00pm, Channel 4

It’s a sign of how tough things are financially in Britain as this yet another cash-saving series.

As the title suggests, it’s a guide to batch cooking, with Suzanne Mulholland and Joe Swash helping families in need of advice to help their food budgets stretch further.

Joe and Suzanne head to Hull to rescue the Powell family from their mealtime mayhem. Suzanne revamps their kitchen, while Joe shows them some savvy shopping tips at the supermarket.

This Channel 5 series starring Jo Joyner - with more twists than a Chubby Checker compilation - wouldn’t have got much exposure here in Ireland. So here goes. Let’s twist again!

This documentary explores the experiences of four young people trying to survive the Israel-Hamas war as they hope for a ceasefire.

The documentary sheds light on the reality of Gaza's humanitarian 'safe zone', where everyday life is punctuated by airstrikes and efforts to keep people alive in its only functioning permanent hospital.

The Man Who Discovered Egypt, 8.00pm, BBC Four

A profile of Victorian adventurer Flinders Petrie (below), who changed the world's understanding of ancient Egyptian civilisation.

Chris Naunton explains how Petrie conducted a scientific survey of the pyramids, making valuable historical discoveries along the way, and reveals how Petrie's methods of investigation revolutionised archaeology

Followed at 9pm by The Latest Secrets of Hieroglyphs, a documentary exploring the latest research into the creation of the ancient Egyptians' written language.

The programme follows Egyptologists as they unlock the texts inscribed inside a richly adorned tomb, revealing the beliefs and lives of the priests, scribes, painters, engravers and builders who created this grand funerary monument.

American Murder: Gabby Petito, Netflix

Here's another multi-part documentary from Netflix.

In August 2021, 22-year-old Gabby Petito was killed by her fiance, Brian Laundrie, while the young couple was on a four month road trip across the United States documenting their "van life" journey on social media.

Two months later, Laundrie was found to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and his parents were suspected of helping to cover up the murder.

While taking viewers on a journey through Gabby and Brian’s final days together, the series will unveil the tragic reality behind their Insta-perfect life and reveal painful moments where their story might have taken a different turn.
