Tell us three things about yourself . . .

If I could spend all day in the garden, I would, I love the fresh air, watching things grow and the peacefulness. I love tea and probably drink about ten cups a day; no activity can be sorted without a fresh brew. I love the energy I get from talking and being around good people that I can have meaningful connections with.

How would you describe your music?

My music is a blend of folk and country creating a sound that is heartfelt, passionate and sincere. Harmonies, soulful vocals and acoustic guitar sounds are the main feature of most of my music and I always try to write about things that matter to me such as love and family.

Who are your musical inspirations?

I have too many to mention here but I suppose when I was growing up and learning to play, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Buckley and Nick Cave were huge influences on me, as were The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

My brother played guitar in a band called The Blimps and I went to see them perform when I was about thirteen in a venue called Slattery's on Capel Street, Dublin. They blew me away and I just loved the buzz of it!

What was the first record you ever bought?

Thriller by Michael Jackson on cassette at the Virgin Megastore in Dublin.

What is your favourite song right now?

I just added The Lonesome Boatman by the Fureys to my list of favourite songs on Spotify and I love it. It’s imagery and emotion is both haunting and beautiful.

What is your favourite lyric of all time?

That’s a tough question but one of my favourite songs is Into My Arms by Nick Cave. I was hoping to sing my wife down the aisle with it but for reasons that can’t be told it didn’t work out. I love the lyric 'And I don’t believe in the existence of angels but looking at you I wonder if that’s true.’ It’s just incredibly romantic and I love the way Nick Cave can mix faith, doubt and love into his songs.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

This may be an obvious answer but it would have to be the version of Hallelujah performed by Jeff Buckley. The guitar playing, the angelic and beautiful vocals and the lyrics I could never tire of.

Where can people find your music?

Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music and pretty much any other digital platform out there.
