From next Monday, 20 January, D'Arcy will be revealing the six songs and acts hoping to be Ireland's Eurovision entry in Basel, Switzerland, in May.
On Friday 7 February, The Late Late Show Eurosong Special will take place - when the public will have the chance to vote for their favourite song as Ireland's 2025 Eurovision entry is chosen.
Ireland is on a Eurovision high after Bambie Thug's sixth-place finish in Malmö last May.
"We had the best result in 24 years last year," he said. "It makes a huge difference when we get a result like that."
Now, six acts will compete in The Late Late Show Eurosong Special - with one of them the "wildcard".
"As you know, over the last few years, we've been kind of reserving the right to sort of fast-track entries to the [Eurosong] final that we think are exceptional or they're artists that we know well, that we feel could do well in the competition," Kealy continued.
"So we have one artist that we have invited to take part in our Eurosong," he revealed.
"I just made that up just there now!" said D'Arcy.
"So people will know this person?" asked D'Arcy.
"They will know this person. Absolutely," agreed Kealy.
"And does this person have an international profile?" said D'Arcy.
"Absolutely. Yeah. Unquestionably," said Kealy.
"They're Irish and I'm very excited. They're somebody who's been on my radar for quite a long time and I'm just really delighted that they've decided to throw their hat in the ring this time."
Kealy said that contact was made "through an intermediary" and "we kind of sounded each other out".
"We said, 'Listen, if you're up for it, we'd love to have you on board'."
Kealy told the host there is "a very good range of songs this year" for Eurosong.
"We've got some kind of surprising elements in there as well," he teased.
"I don't think we would do well by trying to look for Bambie Mark II," he added.
"They're such a unique performer, unique individual. I think we would be on a hiding to nothing trying to find another one. In fact, I don't think there is another one out there."
The semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest take place in Basel on Tuesday 13 May and Thursday 15 May.
The grand final is on Saturday 17 May.
