Pick of the Day

Marilyn Manson: Unmasked, 10.00pm, Channel 4

In February 2021, several women accuse rock singer Marilyn Manson of sexual assault and he is dropped by his manager, his agent and his record company.

This three-part documentary explores the allegations in the wider context of Manson's career, his meteoric rise as the self-proclaimed 'Antichrist Superstar', and the controversy surrounding his fall from grace.

The series examines the high-profile sexual allegations through the voices of some of the accusers as well as Manson's allies.

A shocking portrayal of differing accounts of what went on emerges. It also shows how much society, the world of music and celebrity has changed over the last generation.

In the first episode, Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids explode out of the early 90s Florida alt rock scene. Early fans and musicians chart Manson's rise to global superstardom.

His deliberately provocative stagecraft and offensive backstage behaviour causes uproar, while some fans allege inappropriate behaviour.

Is Manson pushing the boundaries of self-expression or is he a monster hiding in plain sight?
